2019

 

On October 23, 2019, a delegation from Shandong Emergency Management Department visited IFSI, toured the training facilities and programs.

 

On March 25, 2019, a firefighter from the National Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Huizhou Base visited IFSI, did a night drill exercise and toured the training facilities in Champaign.

 

2018

 

On November 20, 2018, the delegation of University Presidents from Central and Western China (17 members) visited IFSI, iSchool, Graduate School of Education, and Global Education and Training.

 

2017

 

From June 14 to June 18, 2017, a delegation of five members led by Xilin Dong, Professor and Vice President from the Police Academy (Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces Academy) visited IFSI and the Chicago Fire Department.

 

On April 26 and April 28, 2017, two fire delegations from China visited IFSI and toured the training facility.

 

On April 20, 2017, six officers from Hong Kong Fire Services Department visited IFSI Fire Investigation Program.

 

From March 6 to March 17, 2017, six officers from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department joined the IFSI Hazmat Tech Training at IFSI Champaign Training Facility.

 

2016

 

On October 6th, 2016, Academician/Director Weicheng Fan, Institute of Public Safety Research, Tsinghua University visited IFSI for scholarly exchange and made a presentation.

 

From June 14 to June 16, 2016, a delegation of six members led by Yonglin Min, Director of the Shanghai Fire Research Institute, visited IFSI and the Chicago Fire Academy.

 

2015

 

From December 15 to December 18, 2015, a delegation of four members led by Yixiang Liu, Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific Research of the Police Academy (Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces Academy) visited IFSI and the Chicago Fire Department.

 

On September 15, 2015, a delegation led by Jianmin Xie, Deputy Director of Economic Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality met IFSI Deputy Director Jim Keiken at the Chicago Fire Department Training Academy to discuss collaboration in hazardous materials response and management.

 

In April and August 2015, delegations led by Dean Bin Han from Tongji University visited IFSI’s training facility. Dean Han and IFSI Director Royal Mortenson discussed collaboration in railroad emergency management training.

 

On March 9, 2015, a delegation led by Dean Lihui Cai from the School of Public Administration & Emergency Management, Jinan University visited IFSI’s training facility. Dean Cai and IFSI Director Royal Mortenson discussed training collaboration in emergency management.

 

2014

 

On November 19, 2014, a Tsinghua University delegation of seven members led by Professor Hong-yong Yuan visited IFSI. On November 18, they visited the Chicago Fire Department and emergency management center.

 

In November 2014, a seven-member delegation from Tsinghua University led by Professor Hongyong Yuan visited the Illinois Fire Service Institute and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The presentations by Director Royal Mortenson on IFSI training and Dr. Gavin Horn on research were well-received. The delegation also visited the Chicago Fire Department.

 

In early August 2014, the Sun Yet-Sen University delegation of four colleagues visited IFSI and learned about IFSI fire investigation and emergency management training programs.

 

In late July 2014, a Youth Safety delegation of four people visited IFSI’s Fire Safety Program. 

 

From March 31 to April 15, 2014, assisted by Dr. and Head Librarian Lian Ruan, the Dunhuang Research Academy delegation visited the United States, including the Illinois Fire Service Institute Library. The delegation was led by Xudong Wang, Associate Dean, Dunhuang Research Academy, Deputy Director, National Preservation of Ancient Frescoes Engineering Research Center and consisted of Yuanlin Zhang, Director of Dunhuang Research Academy Information and Resources Center, and Shengping Xia (CALA member), Deputy Director of Dunhuang Research Academy Information and Resources Center. 

 

2013

 

From December 15 to December 18, 2013, a five-member delegation from the Chinese People Armed Police Forces Academy (CPAPFA) led by Vice President Jinqi Ma visited the Illinois Fire Service Institute and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The delegation participated in the Firefighting Roundtable Discussion that has enhanced information exchange and sharing between the two organizations. During the stay, the delegation met Chief Ken Fustin at the Springfield Fire Department and toured the headquarters station. They also met Jose Santiago, Fire Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department, and William Vogt, District Chief Training Division and other colleagues at the Chicago Fire Academy to learn about firefighting and fire safety training programs in Chicago. On the last day, they also met Paul Darley, President and CEO of W.S. Darley & Co. and toured the company’s headquarters at Itasca. 

 

2012

In January 2012, a delegation of five persons, led by Dr. Chengyu Que, vice president of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics visited the College of Business, IFSI, UIUC campus and met Dr. Wolfgang Schlör to discuss cooperation between the two universities. 

 

2011

 

In September 2011, the delegation of five members from Dalian Administrative College visited Chicago, IFSI, IFSI training facility and UIUC campus. 

From March 31 to April 1, 2011, Chinese Traditional Painting Delegation visited IFSI and UI, and held an exhibition at Spurlock Museum. 

In March 2011, a delegation from Nanjing University of Technology and Science led by Vice President Liu Gang with four other members visited IFSI and UI. 

 

2010

 

In August 2010, a delegation of three members from Hong Kong Fire Services Department visited IFSI and toured the IFSI rescue training facility. 

 

In August 2010, a delegation led by President Jin-ping Ou, Dalian University of Technology visited Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, College of Engineering, National Center for Supercomputer Applications, and IFSI. 

 

2009

 

In October 2009, Jilin Province delegation of four visited IFSI, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Illinois State Library in Springfield. 

 

2008

 

In September 2008, Tsinghua University's Center for Public Safety Research sent a delegation of three professors to visit IFSI. They attended the 2008 IEMA Conference in Springfield and Professor Zhang Hui made a presentation, entitled Experience and Thought from the Sichuan Earthquake in China in May 2008. 

 

In May 2008, Northeast Normal University delegation of six members led by President Shi Ningzhong visited IFSI and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. They met Associate Chancellor William Adams, IFSI Director Richard Jaehne, Associate Director Wolfgang Schlor from International Programs and Studies, Head Sheldon Katz, Department of Mathematics, Dean Mary Kalantzis, College of Education to discuss future collaborations. 

 

2007

 

In fall 2007, three officials from the Hong Kong Fire Services Department visited IFSI and explored potential collaboration in training. 

In November 2007, a delegation of Chinese academic library directors led by Haikang Zhu, Deputy University Librarian and Associate Dean and Professor Yueting Zhuang, School of Computer Science, Zhejiang University, visited Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University Library, Department of Computer Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

 

In November 2007, a delegation of fifteen members led by Academician/Director Fan Weicheng, Tsinghua University, and including professors from Tsinghua University's Center for Public Safety Research and high-ranking officials in emergency management from central and municipal governments, visited IFSI, the University of Illinois, IEMA, and the Chicago Fire Department. 

 

In June 2007, the delegation of five members from China Academic Digital Associative Library (CADAL) visited IFSI, Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University Library and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Illinois State Library in Springfield. 

 

In May 2007, a delegation of 13 library directors in Beijing area visited IFSI, Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

 

2006

 

In December 2006, a delegation of eight professors led by Professor Yuan Hongyong from Tsinghua University's Center for Public Safety Research visited IFSI, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), the Chicago Fire Department, and Underwriters Laboratories (UL). 

 

In April 2006, IFSI hosted the first Chinese delegation of eight professors led by Professor Guang-xuan Liao from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science, University of Science and Technology of China.
